Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) is a two-year postgraduate programme that provides advanced clinical, research, and rehabilitation training in a chosen physiotherapy specialisation. Common specialisations include orthopaedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary sciences, sports physiotherapy, paediatrics, community rehabilitation, and hand rehabilitation. The programme develops advanced assessment skills, evidence-based treatment planning, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise prescription, clinical decision-making, research methodology, and rehabilitation leadership.

MPT students complete advanced clinical rotations in specialty rehabilitation units, neuro-rehabilitation centres, sports-medicine clinics, ICU rehabilitation departments, paediatric therapy centres, and community-health programmes. Training includes complex case assessment, advanced manual therapy, therapeutic exercise progression, outcome measurement, patient education, clinical research, and interdisciplinary rehabilitation planning. Students may also complete dissertation work in an area of clinical interest.

Jobs / Scope in Government & Law Enforcement
MPT graduates are eligible for senior physiotherapist, rehabilitation specialist, disability-rehabilitation officer, and clinical instructor roles in government hospitals, medical colleges, defence services, Railways, sports authorities, and state disability-welfare departments. They can contribute to police and defence fitness programmes, workplace injury prevention, prison healthcare, and community disability rehabilitation. Opportunities also exist in public-health rehabilitation and national disability programmes.

Jobs / Scope in Healthcare & Hospitals
Graduates work as senior physiotherapists, rehabilitation consultants, sports physiotherapists, neuro-rehabilitation specialists, cardiopulmonary physiotherapists, paediatric physiotherapists, and clinical educators. Employers include tertiary-care hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, sports academies, corporate wellness firms, home-care providers, and academic institutions.
