Courses
M.Sc. Clinical Embryology & Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART)
Course Description
M.Sc. Clinical Embryology & Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) is a two-year postgraduate programme that trains students in the science and laboratory practice of human fertility treatment. The curriculum includes reproductive anatomy and physiology, endocrinology, andrology, embryology, gamete biology, in-vitro fertilisation, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, embryo culture, cryopreservation, embryo transfer support, preimplantation genetic testing concepts, quality management, reproductive ethics, and research methodology. Students learn laboratory techniques used in fertility clinics and assisted-reproduction centres.
Internships
Students complete supervised training in fertility clinics, IVF laboratories, andrology laboratories, embryology units, cryopreservation facilities, and reproductive-medicine hospitals. Internship learning includes semen analysis, sperm preparation, oocyte handling, embryo culture, IVF and ICSI laboratory support, embryo-grading concepts, cryopreservation procedures, quality-control documentation, and laboratory biosafety. Students may also participate in research projects related to reproductive biology and fertility preservation.
Jobs / Scope in Government & Law Enforcement
Graduates can work in government medical colleges, public fertility centres, research institutions, and regulatory or accreditation bodies involved in assisted-reproduction oversight. They may support ethical compliance, record-keeping, quality assurance, and laboratory accreditation in ART services. The field also connects with legal and ethical issues in surrogacy, gamete donation, embryo storage, genetic testing, and reproductive rights, creating opportunities in policy, counselling, and regulatory support roles.
Jobs / Scope in Healthcare & Hospitals
Graduates work as clinical embryologists, embryology technicians, andrology technologists, IVF laboratory coordinators, cryopreservation specialists, fertility-lab quality officers, and reproductive-research associates. Employers include fertility hospitals, IVF centres, maternity hospitals, andrology laboratories, genetics laboratories, biotechnology companies, and reproductive-research institutions.
Career Prospects
The programme offers strong prospects in IVF laboratories, fertility clinics, reproductive genetics, fertility preservation, research, and clinical embryology education. Graduates may pursue Ph.D. study, advanced embryology certifications, reproductive-genetics training, or leadership roles in ART laboratories. Rising infertility awareness, expansion of fertility clinics, and advances in genetic screening create excellent long-term career opportunities.
