Course Description

Master of Science in Cardiovascular Technology is a two-year postgraduate programme that provides advanced training in cardiac diagnostics, interventional cardiology technology, cardiac imaging, electrophysiology, and cardiovascular critical care. The curriculum includes advanced ECG interpretation, echocardiography, stress testing, cardiac catheterisation, angiography, electrophysiology studies, cardiac rehabilitation, advanced patient monitoring, cardiovascular pharmacology, quality assurance, and research methodology. Students develop expertise in supporting cardiologists in complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Internships
Students complete advanced clinical rotations in catheterisation laboratories, echocardiography units, cardiac ICUs, electrophysiology labs, cardiac rehabilitation centres, and emergency departments. Training includes advanced cardiac monitoring, cath-lab assistance, angiography support, echocardiography protocols, stress testing, arrhythmia monitoring, emergency cardiac response, and research projects. Training is provided in cardiac hospitals and tertiary-care centres.

Jobs / Scope in Government & Law Enforcement
Graduates can apply for senior cardiovascular technologist, cath-lab technologist, cardiac-care specialist, and clinical instructor roles in government hospitals, medical colleges, ESIC, Railways, defence medical services, and state health departments. They may support public cardiac-screening programmes, emergency cardiac services, occupational-health assessments, and national non-communicable disease programmes. Opportunities also exist in police and defence medical fitness assessment units.

Jobs / Scope in Healthcare & Hospitals
Graduates work as senior cardiovascular technologists, cath-lab specialists, echocardiography technologists, electrophysiology technologists, cardiac-rehabilitation specialists, and cardiac-care coordinators. Employers include heart hospitals, multi-speciality hospitals, cath labs, diagnostic centres, and medical-device companies.

Career Prospects
The programme prepares graduates for advanced clinical roles, cath-lab leadership, cardiac diagnostics, education, and research. Graduates may pursue Ph.D. study, cardiac technology fellowships, healthcare administration, or medical-device specialisation. Rising cardiovascular disease and expansion of cath labs and cardiac ICUs create excellent career opportunities.
